A usefull way to reduce Credit Card interest cost on a short term basis has now been extended to 24 months. Barclaycard now has a credit card that balances can be transfered to allowing a 24 month interest free period. This may well help people who find themselves with short term financial problems. There is a transfer fee and minimum payments still have to be made but if total repayment can be made during the interest free period good savings can be made.
Ideally to make this deal work out, no further purchases should be made on the card and repayment dates need to be rigorously stuck to, as usual.
Some have commented that an immaculate credit rating might be needed to get accepted for a card like this, but for those who get approved the length of the interest free period is the longest you can get at the moment.
